DHCP and 3 Way-handshake

DHCP: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
·         It will assign IP address dynamically to the clients
·         It will works on DORA process
·         Port numbers are 67 – for client, 68 – for server
·         DORA – Discover Offer Request Acknowledgment

DHCP will Assignes:
  •        IP Address
  •        Subnet Mask
  •        Default Gateway
  •        DNS 1
  •        DNS

TCP - 3 Way Hand Shake:
This is also called as call setup for TCP connection Establishment
TCP – 3 Way Handshake is used in Establishing all TCP connections. The important thing here in this is each packet i.e (SYN, SYN+ACK, ACK)

To establish a connection:
TCP use a 3 Way Handshake before a client attempts to connect with a server. the server must bind to a port to open. It takes up for connection
·         This is called Passive Open

·         Once a Passive open is established client may initiate a active open to a 3 Way Handshake
