Types & Ways of Communications

Types of communications :

1: Simplex communication:  It is a only one way communication.

 Ex: television, radio

2: Half duplex:

            It is a two way communication, but at a time only communication will takes place from one side only.

Ex: walkie talkie

3. Full duplex:

            It is a two way communication, both sending and receiving can takes place at the same time

Ex: telephone

Ways of communication:

Unicast: 

In a computer network the communication takes place to a particular device or pc is called unicast

Multicast: 

In a computer network the communication takes place to a group of devices or pc’s is called Multicast

Broadcast:

In a computer network the communication takes place to all devices or  pc’s in the network is called broadcast

Ex: broadcast IP        255.255.255.255

         broadcast MAC is FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF

Any cast:

 In a computer network the communication takes place to the nearest pc or server in the network is called anycast. the any cast is one of the feature of IPv6
